Fentongollan's New Website

Posted by: Katie

We have been working very hard behind the scenes along with our designers, Leap and developers, Aspidistra to bring you a new and improved website and shopping experience, as well as a little more insight and information on who we are and what we do, here at Fentongollan. The launch of the new website coincides with one of the busiest times of year for us, our daffodils by post season. Our daffodils are available during the spring from early January to mid-April. They grow in our fields here around the beautiful River Fal estuary in the heart of Cornwall and are picked and packed here on our farm. We have a dedicated team of ‘flowers by post’ pickers, whose job during these months is to drive around our fields every day, selecting the most suitable mixture of varieties that are at the perfect stage for picking. We grow over 300 different varieties, which means we can pack a wonderfully varied selection in each box throughout the season. Once picked, they are brought back to the farm, quickly chilled, carefully hand-wrapped, packed and sent out by first class post in the evening. This ensures they are as fresh as they can possibly be when they are delivered to you. Our daffodils by post business started forty years ago, when my father, who was a renowned daffodil grower, started sending his favourite daffodils to his friends by post. These were so well received it grew into a ‘daffodils by post’ business long before this became an established way to give flowers. To see what we have available at the moment, please click here.

A lot has changed at the farm since my family started farming here generations and generations ago and we are so pleased that we keep adapting and changing with the times, including the new website you see here today. Our farm history page is being worked on at the moment, you will be able to check back soon to see not only all about us but a timeline of our farming history too. In the meantime we hope you like our new website and wish you all a happy and prosperous 2015.
