Beautifully coloured foliage make these a good addition to a garden. They like moisture retentive soil dresssed with leafmould or well rotted compost, in sun or partial shade. The varigated varieties retain their colours best in light shade. When planting spread out roots and fill with soil, do not firm and then water in. Suitable for containers. Plant dig hole twice size and twice depth of crown.
